The approach looked a lot prettier than the landing. The floor pan dragged on the lip of the jump until the rear wheels hit and booted the ass end of the car into the air causing us to land on our nose.
Car goes to the frame shop in a week to pull the rad/bumper support back to where god and Mitsubishi intended it. Oh well, go big and go home. |

I'm always afraid to jump my Subaru that high , or much at all. guess now that i have 2 sets of JVABs super bitchen suspenders i should just flat every jump till i bend something

Well, so many nice piccies here that i thought i´d put few of ours also.... Might be few cars there that are not so familiar down here....
First pic, Me driving and Jari Valjanen at Günaydin Rally Turkiye -90, Start was in front of Blue Mosque in Istanbul... Apprx. 10000 spectators just on start area... It was quite an experience for 25 years old finns from Lepsämä.... As well was the 2000 mile trip trough Eastern Europe... 1 litre of Vodka costed maybe 50c, so we dont remember quite all from the trip.... =) Finnish Historic Rally Trophy few years back, Opel Monza 3.0 gr2, this is propably the only car i really regret selling, so much fun to drive..... We even won our class few times even one overall, and when starting the build quite many said that boat like that could not be rallied... Mighty Lada VFTS grB at Rallysprint at Vantaa -88, like true rallycar, aluminium doors and bonnet/lid etc... Never going straight even on longest straights, Fun Fun Fun.... My Fathers Skoda 1000 MBG -66, Original factory used shell from 60´s... Event was Lahti Historic Rally in early 2000´s This is for John.... Me at Saaremaa Rally with Swedish prepped 240... while landing quite much everythig stopped working... =) And, again at Arctic rally, Finishing 4th on grF with some quite wide lines, Ascona B SR grF. Red Ascona A at Arctic Rally in Rovaniemi, Arctic Circle... If you like winter rally, that´s the place to go...
Ascona B i2000 grA upsidedown.... Isko Ralli -86 at Jämsä, old 1000 lakes stages. Second event with that car, last stage and on 4th overall few minutes before this pic was taken... Next pic same Ascona few years later, about 1.5 km later was the last corner for that shell... Event was Orimattila ralli at Southern Finland. My good friend with his Trabi 601 Historic, 1000 lakes Historic rally and famous Urria jump... while landing lost few parts, generator, carburator, exhauts etc.... retired ... =) BMW Alpina gr2, real one. My first event ever, as a codriver, 17yrs old. (at that time it was not allowed to drive before you had had drivers license for at least a tear) Helsinki Ralli -83 And last, Janakkalaralli -85, me codriving for my father on Escort 1600 Sport gr2, we retired but drove the car away from the stage...
