The paint on that bug probably includes lead, which is very bad for....

Oh, wait! A bunch of things about JVL suddenly started making sense.

I'm an old-school D&D player, so I really shouldn't be making comments about lead-poisoning, anyway.

John I had thought about bringing you the pickles along with the applesauce and then I decided to keep them all for myself! Most have been devoured already.

I always give John my experimental jams and jellies and ask him to share with the family.... just keep an eye on the girls for a couple of days..... Once I get the ok they aren't twitching or acting funny I put my "botulism free" stamp of approval. smiling smiley

The only thing I add when canning of any sort is a lot of sugar and love winking smiley

*******
Tim I haven't made grape juice but a friend I work with does the same...also does this with blueberries something I will try this year. I did take the juice though from all my berries I used in jams and mixed it with vodka for some nice martini blends. Of course it looks like moonshine in my freezer but that's all part of the fun.

For once, can we have a titty party? Lets put the rally nerds to bed and see some titties. It's not that hard.

I'm just now getting into the whole "why don't i grow some food at home" thing ..

Farming.. women garden.. men farm ...

I really want to grow a lot of blue berries, and i want some fruit trees. guess i'll have to learn to jar if i end up with a lot of them.

so far my yellow thumb i think keeps me safe from that danger though. smiling smiley

Try boiled rhubarb (sweetened slightly with sugar) with cold home made custard!

Pickles to me are pickled onions. Boil apple cider vinegar with the pickling spices in a bag for about 30 mins. Cut and peel said onions, they vary in size from about 1", sometimes smaller. Put onions in a pickling jar, then fill up the space with the now cooled spiced vinegar. Leave for 3 months (if you can)! Best thing to accompany Heinz baked beans on toast for lunch!

Lastly, as a kid, we would eat rhubarb raw! Try it sometime!
