I have decided that I'm going to sell my prototype it has some minor fitment issues you would have to remove a skin going to the wheel well and bump the one side of the tank strap mount up. i figure if you are wanting something this intense you shouldn't have an issue. I want to get $600 for it plus shipping I need to recoup some cash and pay off some people that have done some work for this project. You're joking, right? I don't even charge that much for most rollcages.

MSI piece is a good example of a Tarmac or road race application, maybe William can modify his design slightly for that application and start producing for another market, MSI wont sell many at that price.

No fuel cell for me, I like the OEM one the best, I tried to get Version 1.00000001 but that was promised to a friend of his he said. Im intrested in a lighter version then the rally version hes built. What makes the MSI unit more of a Tarmac thing then rally is one the cost! only 4 mounting holes, weight, and the MSI unit just looks to be less ridged then Williams version.

You ought to drop over sometime and I can show you all these Ford books full or parts and photos saved compariong gravel and tarmac spec on stuff.
Seems while there is less damage minimizing things on gravel arms, uprights etc the tarmac stuff is far far burlier in terms of bearings, section, and mounting.
While never a fan of tarmac I do know even without crashing into stuff, it generates far more of some types of loading.

And as a guy formerly from Saab Rally Dept said once when looking at how lightly the did some tarmac stuff compared to how I do my own stuff he said "Ah! But when had skilled mechanics waiting with van-loads of spares, you don't so naturally you should do things much stronger"

I say tarmac parts should be more rigid. (just like we can get away with bushes in suspension links in gravel but the moooosh out in short order on tar, and sperical bearings are the norm.

I hadn’t heard of the event I might be down to go hang out. Hospital! Don’t rush it if ur not 100%. I guess I’ve been mislead by rally guys since they always have told me how strong they wanted things in case they hit something so they can finish the stage etc, so I just assumed you guys would go through bigger efforts to make things more durable then light. I’m sure there is a balance for both. You tell a tarmac guy he can lose 10lbs off a part of the car he’s putting his old lady on the corner to afford it, but id think in rally they would be much quicker to make sure it’s going to last. Impact forces are probably more important on a rally car then a track car IE F1 racing stuff.

Hey John, as I understand it, it's a "tarmac" thingy cuz of some suspension geometry (MATH) stuff... like those extra set of holes higher up, to mount the trailing arms. Something about correcting the roll centre when the car is lowered.

and I'm sure its made of asymmetricalunobtaniumcromolywontbendium.

we still don't have any formal pricing on Williams stuff, right?
