Grant, you only need to couterbore till down to "clean".
Kissie kissie!!! OK.
(That way you know they're all the same without trusting the drillstop or anything, OK.

And any news on if you're ready to weld the X members?
We should talk.

Working on getting my garage set up and getting welder set up. It's there, and we now have power. Have to get a few consumables and they'll be ready to go. Hope to do them this weekend, as I have a little more free time than usual. This whole 3 jobs and full time grad school means my free time is not in abundance.

Getting close to ready for brakes. What's our progress like? I see I sent a deposit and Paddy did that was confirmed. Paddy sold his now, but I still need mine and am hoping to get them by the time I'm ready for em, which is very quickly approaching.

BELLS ARE DONE- right discs finally here
May 24, 2007 06:40PM
The final revison, correct and definately Sooper Bitchinâ„¢ 283x32 Heavy Dooooty curved vane rotors with full contact, no overhang discs have arrived.
They were customs so no beeeg fawkin markup for me and a bit more for you guys but these are the right thing.

Grant, pack up those I sent you unless you want them for maybe rears.

Here's one shot:

Hery who is getting 2wd Cossie hubs/knuckles?
These thing fit both the USDM Xratty and the 2wd Cos when its all cinched up.

You Xratty guy will need to run a M12 tap thru the ears on the Xratty knuckle.

Who is awaiting calipers?

Those look sweet.
Got to find a box to pack mine back up in. Or maybe I'll just reuse whatever box you ship me the new ones in.

Oh, and have you test fit these on the US uprights? I bolted the calipers you sent me onto an upright with 7420 scalloped pads and the rotor hat actually rubbed.

Hey John, am I supposed to send back the calipers? Or are these calipers right? They seem to look the same as in your pic and they seem to fit the discs, which arrived yesterday.

No those are the final spec. as still "back-ordered 3 weeks" on the US Brakes caliper.
If you really asked nicely I'd send you nice BLUE bells.

Can we make any sense out of the deposit/delivery stuff at this point???

Blue bells. Mmmm. Pretty. Nah, then you'd have to anodize these ones.

Yeah, I've sent you $575 for brake related items.
$160 per caliper is all I know for final price. Let me know on the rest.

Re: BELLS ARE DONE- right discs finally here

So, just got done tapping some holes and putting stuff together and voila, not right. The brake disc sits about 3 mm too far outward. So, now I'm left to wonder if I need to pay a machinist to turn down the inside of the hat a few mm to fix it, or if the whole thing is designed to work with the Sapphire uprights, which then leads me to the question of if I should wait in the hopes of getting the correct uprights, or do I order a set myself. If they do turn out to only be compatible with the Euro upright, then I'm stuck in the position of not having a full set of spares sitting right here, so maybe machining the brake bell is the solution, but unfortunately, I am out of money and the IRS is taking all expendable income for the next few months so I suppose my hopes of having a driving car before September are a sham. Oh well, maybe 2010. Should have built a Subaru...

Did you think of using a 3 or 4 mm washer like a cylinder head bolt washer to space the caliper inboard 3mm or 4mm.
I can't recall if that was the thing I did so they would work on either knuckle.

As for Sapphire units I have 7-8 pairs and TCAs to match just waiting.

You need to learn to use the phone.

Would have to space the disc 3-4 mm inward or bring the caliper outward.

I don't have time to use the phone. Fuck, I order parts online that I could get locally because I don't have the time to go to the store that carries them.
