Hi Guys,
I've got a fresh '79 tercel that I'm getting ready for the local rallycross series and since it already handles awesome (my buddy and I took it off some sweet pothole jumps in a McDonalds parking lot yesterday), I'm trying to add a bit more power. I went ahead and bought a BSOD coil and control box, since my friend with a '78 did the same thing and instantly saw 25 more horsepower on his G-tech Dyno. Problem is, I can't seem to figgure out where my ecu is to replace it with. I'm a certified Skidoo mechanic and they're always on the right side of the engine bay on snow machines, so I made my wife stick her arm around while I cranked the motor to feel for electricity, but she ended up getting her blouse stuck in the fan belt and she made me sleep on the couch. I've posted my complaints on some import boards, but they all keep telling me to buy a manual, and don't seem to understand that I've already blown all my budget on this $500 ignitor setup....kids. Any help comes mucho appreciated, serious replys only haterz need not reply!!! ....seriously, slow news day today... |

First, what are you trying to accomplish???????? Second, are you planning to visit your spiritual cousin way up the coast of Vancouver Island??? Third, do you want me to send you 3 new distributors, 5 iginters and send them all as a gift UPS overnight. It'll cost $3.47 plus UPS brokerage fees. They're not much, maybe $800 or so. I can include a cone filter, you'll gain 15 bhp and the car will corner better so you can lift the inside wheel. Will a Pine Cone do? I AM TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH PUTTING THIS HI-$$$ PIMP IGNITION SYSTEM ON MY PERFORMANCE VEHICLE, NOT DEAL WITH OLD TROLLS LIKE YOURSELF. The car has a gutted intake, K&N, and custom 1" crush bend exhaust. I am also waiting for my intake "turbonator" I bought off eBay to arrive, which should net me ~50hp more to drive over your old ass. Mods, please delete this thread, it's hurting my feelings. |

You totally should have bought one of those super dope racing chips on eBay. More power for less money. What were you thinking? Sheesh.

Jeez John, don't you know anything? Use Marvel Mystery Oil! Then when you have put 3 pints of the stuff in the fuel tank which only has 4 gallons of gas in it and your engine won't spin over 4K, add a gallon of toulene. (true thread from a Subie forum)

------------------------------------------------------- > (true thread from a Subie > forum) No way. :| Anyway, forget all that madness about gas treatments and whatnot. All you need to do is wire up like five ol car batteries in your trunk to a 'lectric supercharger marine bilge pump super fan 4000. That'll hook you up for the hole shot. Thomas Knight FTW! Way
"Dropped some Marvel Mystery oil (a little too much since I had half a tank) in the gas yesterday. This morning I noticed that after 4000 rpm it just stopped climbing. You think the oil additive would cause such behavior. You could feel it TRYING to go faster but it just wouldnt." RichardM |
