Hell weren't BDAs making 250-odd HP in the *seventies*, from 2 liter carbureted engines?
And what's wrong with warming up 3hr before the race? You gotta warm it up, then after it's hot change the "warmup" plugs to the "race" plugs, change the oil, and recheck/reset the valve lash... Yeeeeeeeeees? You there in back. Yes about 25% larger. And what is about 25% of 210-212 bhp, class? Anyone? Bueller? And not to burst the bubbles of all the 4AGE fans here, a 4AGE is not a BDA or a BDG. Spend 15,000 and it CAN BE. Here is an Atlantic engine in the Hasselgren drift car that makes 260hp NA Why is there so much angst (teenage or otherwise) going around today? This isn't friggin MySpace. We all still like cars that go fast in the woods. Tim EDIT: Hey, somebody buy his engine! Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/01/2008 03:44PM by Tim Taylor. |

Is it all RandD? For 45K i think even i could get that much power out of that motor rally gods would turn in their graves if they ever knew Lada's were now part of EU rallying!!! |

Formula Atlantic no longer uses the Toyota 4ag. I guess 45 grand was too much money even for them.
To reduce costs they switched to a MSR 2.3 Mazda engine built by Cosworth. I don't know the cam specs for sure on the race motor but the 260 horse version has 282 Duration / 11.3mm lift / 111ATDC. So the 300 horse version is prolly a shade over 300 duration. Motors are 12:1 compression and run on 108 octane leaded. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formula_Atlantic#Race_equipment Michael LeCompte |
