I would just like it on the record, in all honestly, asking whether a "flammable" liquid is allowed inside the cabin (as I have seen rally cars before) is actually quite legitimate.

Although, it is a moderately silly question.

No Timm. It's a ridiculous question.
A liquid that will ignite has to be protected. A fluid that will burn or ignite when subjected to an acetelyne torch or launched into the sun is just ridiculous.
MSDS sheets for washer fluid put them at what 10-30% methanol. I'd be willing to bet it's nowhere near a risk for anyone who isn't a total fucking panty waist worry puss. Like the motherfuckers that slam on the brakes when they turn into the sun, don't let their kids walk to school, and religiously use bleach to kill all germs in their houses.
Anyone that is putting anything other than a cheap windshield washing fluid into their car is a nitpicker and should go autocross or track race with the other wanky boys.

Auto ignition temperature from a MSDS sheet I found. 878 degrees. I am not worried.
But what about really really cold events?
For safety we really should have these in a bulkhead in a bulkhead. Fucking pansies.

Seriously.

The bottle melts and is on fire before the liquid does anything.

See, the funny thing is I'm not worried, and even said in the other thread I didn't think it would light.

But, what I believe and what the rules require are two different things. Want an example? Head and Neck restraints. Lots of people don't think/want them... but they are required. So really, asking if a liquid labeled as flammable is ok somewhere seems logical.... even if the answer is not.

On H&N restraints: Having hit a tree hard enough to bend my car in half and only having a mild sore neck for a day and a half, I will go out on a limb and say they work pretty darn well. I will not get in a car that I am abusing without one.
