No kidding dan, college kids around here are proud of their crapcans. There was a round headlight 2 door that hasn't moved in months in nampa. Want me to stop by and see if he's interested in selling?

I would rather have a 242. I want to use it for the local rallyx's/mountain road fun. I live within an hour of all the Idaho Rally stages plus a LOT more fun rarely used roads.

This is the only 242 I've seen for sale. http://boise.craigslist.org/cto/2410445182.html

Don't go out of your way but yeah if you have a chance that would be great. I still have a few months overseas so it's no rush.

Yeah, but a 245 would mean you can also load it up with mountain bikes, snowboards, engines, etc.
I think wheelbase, weight, width, etc. are all nearly identical.

But I know what you mean. When I was looking for my base car to build for rally I wanted a 242. Decided I'd settle for the first nice 4 or 2 door I could find for under $1000. Never happened, but a $750 Merkur did...

But here's a beaut...
http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/2347460524.html

I posted this already maybe?

C'mon though. Turbo, 5 speed, 4 wheel disc brakes. What more could you want from a daily driver! If I wasn't flirting with overdraft fees and had anything resembling a savings account I'd consider it.

Damn it. Now I want a Volvo...

If that's true then I would have no problem with a wagon. I loved the WRX wagon I had a while back. I think I remember JVL asking a guy why he wanted to build a wagon. I would have to search for his reasons not to build a wagon but I thought it was due to weight reasons.

Edit: I found it. It wasn't JVL it was Vorpal_Rally http://www.rallyanarchy.com/phorum/read.php?1,47124,47124#msg-47124

BTW, my 1976 245 wagon weighs 3030 with me in it and a half tank of gas. Thats with the Ford 2.3T and a T5. Build a wagon. Way more practical. WB is the same.

Good point, plus I'm sure cops never look at you twice haha. When I get my civic finished I will have to start looking for one.
