I think Bryan Scott was having one built as well.

Seeing how we know the design of long heavy inline 6s in short wheelbase cars was proven horrible about 1960-62 when a 75 hp 850cc Saab annihilated every car of that sort that Mercedes, and BMC with works twin cam Austin Healey could come up with,

and knowing how poorly these specific cars did against mild little Fords anywhere in the civilised world.........

do you guys get the hard-on for these because you secretly know that you have a built in excuse why you couldn't win?

Oh sorry Jay, I forgot we were talking about a little sports car class in roadracing. You're right, just spend 20 times what some club guy ---in road racing in those days---and they did pretty good.

Who cars that that "sports" cars with shit weight distribution were emabarassed by cars with 1/4 the horsepower they had.

So was Peugoet 404 diesel.
Ford used Kent cast iron pushrod things in their Escorts.

I thought FUN was numero uno, and a vile handling thing with a not very reliable motor with a head as long as the block (LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG) which at the first hint of heat warp badly, not my taste.
Do any valve train mods and you can spend HOURS!!!! setting up the valve stem height right so the cam doesn't ram into the wrong part of the slipper followers. Not worth it unless there's no other choice.

And there's LOTS of other choices.

In the land of blind men,.......

(many years ago spent a nice afternoon talking with a guy named Tony Fall.
Tony Fall's comments weigh more than Healy's in my book)

The cars weren't all that heavy and they handle pretty well. Pretty danged reliable engines too. The heads warping wasn't a big problem and most went as long or longer than the 4cyls before losing a gasket. Nismo got 700hp out of a twin turbo motor on the stock crank before it broke. I like it.
