I alway though that was a key thing with rally that since the conditions of what we drive on were so variable and tricky, that a person could do just that, with a small dose of judgement... and you don't even need a blue Sub-a-rat to go fast John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! care to share where one might find such things, at said prices? Did a little bit of searching, and didn't really turn up much that was any cheaper than the Peltor stuff from apdmro. KF7RWG http://www.utahrallygroup.com |

I may need to do a bit of backpaddeling here - since I now have doubts whether you by "Peltor kit with cups - 130$" meant that just the cups with the speakers and mic are 130$, or if it's the entire intercom with the amp, etc. that's 130$. Because if it's the entire kit, then that's cheap . If not, take a look at these: OMP: http://www.motorsport-tools.com/omp-inter-classic-intercom-p-246007.html TerraPhone: http://www.rallynuts.com/intercom-kits/terraphone-clubman-intercom-kits.html This was just a real quick Googling - may be cheaper elsewhere. Shipping may be prohibitive if you don't have a US OMP or TerraPhone dealer. Since OMP is Italian and pretty common over here, it tends to be the cheapest alternative. Brgrds Brian |

what peltor/3m call a 'kit', most of the world appears to refer to as just 'headset' - just the speakers, mic, and optionally earcups.
At this point, probably going to skip the earcups because it looks as though it'd require significant modification to my helmet to fit them - which strikes me as 'probably not legal, maybe not safe'. Terraphone stuff is available here, but based on its reputation (mainly the clubman stuff I'd guess), I'll pass on that. The Terraphone Pro Plus stuff is peltor compatible, but the open face headset ($105 from rallylights.com) is basically the same price as the comparable peltor (MT632, $110 from apdmro). Seeing as I'll be picking this stuff up initially to co-drive (and not with any particular car), it makes sense to me to go with something that's a known quantity here - while I'm sure it's possible to make a OMP Clubman to (Terraphone, peltor, stilo) adapter(s) or a graytronics to (terraphone, peltor, stilo) adapter(s), it's a hell of a lot easier for me to just buy one that's already developed.
