theres a giant tree imprint between the right rear wheel well and the passenger door. i believe the front right wheel bearing is out. comes with a bunch of rims and tires, including 1 set of snow tires and rims, 2 spare transmissions, extra engine head, and a bunch of other parts. here are some pictures: http://www.rallyanarchy.com/phorum/read.php?7,56041 ive got more if anyone is interested.

yeah besides the wheel bearing it drives just fine. another thing, the clutch was starting to slip sometimes at really high rpms, but aside from that it was driving great even after the incident with the tree. san juan island is where its at.

Do you think the wheel bearing will make the trip over to Seattle? Trailer on the Ferry very expensive.

it might be something else, but i was driving and i heard a really loud noise, and then my car would barely move, it was grinding really badly. what i was thinking is i could drive it onto the ferry and then off of it, and you could pick it up on the other side?

Ya stink he could jack all 4 wheels in the air, fire it up, then run all the gears?

And walk around while its in gear---in the air and like listen?

Problem is its up in the islands and now he's a coupla blocks from where I am.

I had absolutely no problems with the tranny, but ohhh, the center diff lock motor is out. if you lock it again, you probably wont be able to unlock it again without doing it manually. but yeah from what you guys have told me they are pretty fragile. but i dont see why it wouldnt last quite a while if you dont abuse it more than what is within reason.

You are aware that the transmission is somewhat involved in the whole "making the car move" business, right?

(not saying it is or isn't a wheel bearing, or it is or isn't the transmission. But something is wrong, and what you've described doesn't sound 100% consistent with a wheel bearing.)

ok i probably should have menioned that the wheel was rubbing against the caliper... so maybe its not a wheel bearing, and by the time i got it home the wheel was off balance? it was not spinning correctly. it is definitely something in that area, and im pretty sure it has nothing to do with the transmission.
