I would be interested in one of the spare transmissions if they are in good shape and the price is right.

god damnit, thats another thing... the guy never game me a fucking logbook. said he couldnt find either one of them. the cage might even need some updating to get a new one... maybe im wrong and one of you might actually want to buy it, but im thinking i might be better off just parting this thing out?

I thought Gene mentioned in your other thread that someone/something was "working on it"? Did that not pan out?

Looking at your pictures, I believe you will find that the grinding noise is the RF brake caliper rubbing on the inside of the rim. Judging from the chunk out of the rim, it would likely account for "it can hardly move". I would recommend checking that you didn't bend the rim when meeting the tree or that it is possiblely the wrong offset rim.

yeah i noticed that too, i just thought maybe it was a symptom of a broken wheel bearing? this happened about a month after the incident with the tree, it was driving just fine until then.

If the hub is uniformly pushed in, then I suppose it could be that the bearing is coming apart, which would be very bad and unsafe to drive.

It also looks like from the picture that the alignment has a lot of positive camber to it too. Was it like that before the Tree Incident?

Have you jacked up the car on that corner and yanked on the wheel to figure out what's broken?

the positive camber happened about 2 months after the tree hit my car. the car was driving totally fine one minute, then i heard a loud grinding noise and the car began to require alot more power to move it. i immediately assumed it was a broken wheel bearing, since when i bought the car, the guy warned me that he thought the wheel bearing might be going out, and he actually gave me an extra wheel bearing with the car. i would jack it up, but i dont have access to anything that can get the car up that high.

i've had that symptom and it was a caliper that became unattached and was rubbing the inside of the rim. Might be your lucky day!

No logbook is a bigger problem, I'd say.

yeah i was thinking somebody could use it as a parts car or something... i think the cage might be bent as well at the impact spot.

If you are interested in unloading some of the spares, PM me a list of what you are looking to sell and how much you want to see for them.

I've got no room for spare car, unfortunately. If I didn't I would take it all.

i dont know man, i just feel like getting rid of the spares would basically leave the car as worthless. and i think one guy offered me like 100 for both gearboxes, so im guessing the spares arent really worth much anyways

Your call... The belts if not expired are worth something. Seats in good condition are. The TerraTrip. Spare rims, depending on condition. GTX front spindles are unique and worth something.

If you change your mind, I would take the transmissions, any rear driveline parts (driveshaft, center bearing support, rear diff). I can pick up or arrange to have them picked up to avoid shipping hassles.
