The best value for a sate rally odometer is still Brantz.

Brantz are excellent at any level, and so simple even a driver like me can set it

Here's the calibration instructions.

Punch in 100 in the cal thang.
Drive a mile.

Now enter whatever is displayed as your cal factor.

See?
Even I can manage that, so anybody can.

Fucking disgusting stooopid Terrible trips have frustrated even people I consider intelligent.. don't get me going.....

SOME PEOPLE will want to argue "I done used-ed Terror-trip and it wasn't..." Fawkin shut up, they just don't know any better.
Indeed some people LIKE fucking with pointless bullshit cause then they feel tthey "overcame mountains of hardships" fawk that.

We want SIMPLE, RELIABLE, CLEAR, the rest is wanky wank.

John, you can do the same cal trick with the teratrip. I wish I had something nicer, but it does work fine.

Maybe, but not on any of the 101, 202, 303 that I have had the misfortune to be near.
That POS in those Focus guy was impossible to set period and they paid a lot of money for it and the installation, NEVER read correctly. Why bother with shit like that.

I'm not the brightest guy but somehow I can install plenty of Bratntz and read the wiring and cal, Terrortrip after emails and mail and days of fucking around wasting time: read wrong, would SOMETUIMES count up with revs in the motor..Install? Very likely, but Brantz even a clumsy guy can install correctly every time.

Chris: Are we meeting at JVL's today?

My problem with Terratrip is that they are unreliable and hard to use.

I have a 303. You set the cal to 100, drive 1 mile, then re-set the cal to the indicated distance. It's just math. Any setable odo that has a calibration number will do the same thing. I personally don't mind the terratrip. the problem on the focus was they were triggering off of the stock speed sensor, which is something like 36 pulses per tire rotation, and the terratrip cal number just doesn't go big enough. I don't think the Brantz would do it either. They really needed to add a wheel probe.

That focus needed a wheel probe, it didn't work correctly off the vss, would brantz work better off the vss?

We had 2 days notice to get that focus prepped for OTR, not to mention our own cars Hans rentals and orders on a short work week. But I'm sure poppa Watkins gave you the whole un-biased story...

If it was my call I would have told them no and we could have had another month to get it ready for Idaho... doesn't seem to matter Christian didn't turn out to be the rally phenomenon his dad had expected him to be now they've sold it, anyone seen or heard from him?

That was the most dangerous car and driver to our video crew at OTR 2010. Luckily they were slow so we could get out of the way even if we did think they were sweep much of the time.

As a codriver I've used both. Neither are hard to use IMO. When I buy one for my car it will be a Brantz though. The only issue I see with it is on sunny days it can be hard to read without shading the display. Easy fix would be make a small visor for it.
