Hey john.. how close does the sensor need to be to the rotating objects its reading? in thousandths...?

There are 2 types of sensors also, the close range, and the not close range. I put it on the bracket, rotated the wheel and found out how far away it would still get a signal, then installed it at 1/2 that distance.
