Actually, at a tarmac hillclimb, its a very very big issue. If they put up cones, it was to ensure that dirt isn't sprayed on the road. Drivers are expecting a clean road and are committing to blind corners expecting that sort of surface. Spray dirt on the road and the guy who's committed to 60mph for the corner which now only has 40mph worth of grip and you fly right off the road....

At dirt hillclimbs...cut those corners all day long!

This is exactly the problem. These guys (and myself when running a tarmac hillclimb with items placed in ditches to keep people from ditch hooking) are trying to run up the road as fast as they can. Some asshat ditch hooking is going to cause a fatality at Pikes Peak, because if you don't commit at least 90% to the corners, someone else will.

If this was a rally group holding a tarmac hillclimb and there was nothing in the ditches, drivers would expect to see dirt on the road. This was with a tarmac group that was expressly trying to keep the road surface clean. The guys you were racing against are probably running slick tires and gravel and dirt on the road is a real danger.

All I'm saying is, be mindful of the group you're running with and don't rock the boat, be respectful.

Nothing is worth killing yourself for at some dumb hillclimb or rally or moto-cross or anything.

Its a open diff in it currently . I was told to leave it , that it would drastically shorten the life of transmission components welded and make it handle like shit.. It gets good traction open with the lassa 3's on it..
