you are, like everybody does when they've tired of whatever was once the apple of their eye, making problems for everybody with this "all or nothing" thing...

I read you load and clear, but I haven't tired of these wonderful cars. Unfortunately things happen in people's live that force radical change and in my case I've exhausted all my available options to hang on to these until more prosperous times. I wish I could give them away to those who would enjoy and do something with them, but ultimately they are still an asset that I have to make use of, no matter how unpleasant or bitter the experience. As a passion it's almost like having to choose which of your children gets to eat because they're more likely to survive than the others.
If a miracle occurs one would be on the road and another or two in the stages and on the track, but miracles don't heed timetables much... |

I know, been there many times, see the flywheel thread... But be open to separartuing the pile into bite sized pieces. Knew a guy up here who was doing the same "all or nothing" well he didn't sell them. Over 3 years I sold 5 of his. yeah, that's why the "group buy" comment, best compromise I could come up with vs. the one-lump or as you say all-or-nothing approach. Parting out isn't in the logistical cards, little in the way of tools, time or transportation anymore and I'm almost an hour from where the cars are stored. It sucks. The only offer I've had is the guy that'll haul 'em to the scrap yard for 10% of what they'll bring on the scales. It really sucks. I'd rather be tinkering with them than sitting here on a library machine trying to shake trees.

Any chance you can take the time to give price for each car and a price for all the loose parts? or at least a better description of the cars and a list of parts. As a package there is near zero chance of this selling and without a list of what you have there is little interest in trying to form a "group buy" 5 cars and parts would cost over $3K to transport anywhere. I could pick up 1 car and a truck full of parts but its a 1300 mile tow and you only have a few things i am interested in. It's ridiculous for a few things you have listed to get scrapped.. Figure out a way to chop this into the right slices, and you have $3,000 easy. Just hauling the mess to the scrapper is going to get you what, $200-250/car (steel/heavy iron is going for about $200/ton around here right now)? That's waaaaaaaaaay short of $3k. I suppose if you dismount tires and yank all the wiring you can get better rates on the alloy and copper...
Seriously, if the scrapper will give you $3k for five XR4s, I'd take all the good stuff off, take the money and eBay the rest. You need to make some packages. Look at each car, what parts it does or doesn't have, whether it's a rot box parts machine or some tires and brakes from being roadworthy. With intercoolers and Euro lights you may have a way to make a couple of $1,500 cars there, even as "projects" with the right bits...or not. If I had money and space, I'd hire my neighbor to haul them up in one of his big rigs, or grab my dad's F350 KING RANCH CREW CAB DUALLY 4X4 POWERSTROKE DIESEL truck (you have to shout that like you're at a NASCAR race) and rack some miles if they weren't rusty. But I need projects like a hole in the head. If you have a couple crusty runners, they'd likely sell for $300+ to southern LeMons teams. There ain't no magic bullet for liquidating these and making money. Trust me, been there, done that, made a tiny fortune out of a small one. Andrew Steere Lyndeborough, NH KB1PJY |

The only difference in the various Mooseangst, Thunderchicken and Xratty turbos is early Mooseangst manual got a .63 a/r turbine housing. All others were .48 a/r including later post '85.. That was OPEM. now? who knows. The compressor wheel, : 409096-0013 Compressor wheel was same on all and same as YB cossie 4x4.. You haz one or you need one? I have a cosworth t3 hotside. Let me dig it up and post pics. I also have a turbonetics t3 super 60 coldside housing that I got from knox that Id like to use. The backing plate looks different so it might need a swap. The center section has a fair amount of wear and I figured if Im going to replace it, might as well do so with the roght comp wheel.
