Caged CRX race car
January 17, 2013 11:49PM
1986 CRX Si . Caged by Race Tech in Portland with DOM a few years back. Lightened for hill climbs. Rebuilt 1.5 Si engine, header, Moroso aluminum oil pan, large low restriction exhaust. Adjustable Tokico suspension. New OMP FIA winged seat, new FIA belts, removable steering wheel. Has wipers but no lights or heater. NASA is moving into Oregon and this could be used for the Honda Challenge class or others in SCCA or conference. It has only been hill climbed by us and the original owner. Very quick and a very sanitary build. Could be rallied with a little work. Titled and licensed (nice living in rural areas). Comes with extra transmission, rebuilt block, extra heads, cams, dizzy, boxes of spare parts AND another stock CRX (no title). $4000 . Will sell for $3300 without the seat. Would take a sound bodied Datsun Z car on trade, running not important.

Probably not with February weather around here anyway. Brent wants to try more power and RWD. What the heck, why not?

Time to start drag racing diesels!

All this BMW shit is getting to him huh?

You guys JUST missed out on Sean's car. That would have been perfect RWD and more power!

Or by RWD do you mean jet boat racing?

More of the 280Z, Mustang, Corvette, RX-7 RWD stuff. Strictly a pavement pounder, hill climb, track day car.

Oh an Xratty or a 240...should be easy. You should see the brakes we can do under 15" wheel on those.....

Long name...Vanlandamnyoursoulwhydontchagetaneasiername or something...

Gene, you know i mlike the Xratties cause its a good damn car with endless potential...but I push those damn 240s cause they are damn near as good but simpler and i like simple!

Gene, Dads been threatening to get rid of his '70 240z and get something a little more hillclimb/recreational racing freindly. It is by no means a project (You'd be hard pressed to find a nicer one). ~37K original miles, has all original parts for it (including the exhaust) tastefull upgrades with all oem pieces nicely boxed... 4 wheel discs, dealer option AC, adjustable control arms, H&R suspension, lots of other goodies. Very Fun car.

I dunno what kind of price range you'd go for but if you are interested I could pass on the ad. He did get to see the crx at bogus and seemed enthralled with the idea at the time.

Only pics I have are from putting in his new lift a couple of weeks ago.

And one of my recently not so pregnant wife who got to take it out for a spin.

Be forwarned that she has threatened dad to not make any more grandkids if he sells it. So you may have to deal with her too.

Sure AJ, run it past him. We'll see if we can afford the Z-car.

NO edit button ...price drop...found a couple Zcar possibilities so $2500 without the new seat, that includes the original race seat which is still in good condition.

I sold my 510 6 yrs ago for $300. 4-door with spares, it wasn't the prettiest either. I saw it for sale a month or two ago, asking price was over $2k! Old CHEAP Datsuns have become unobtanium!
